COOKIE POLICY
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give website owners information about how their site is being used.
Types of Storage We Use
- Cookies: Small files sent to our server with each request. Used for sessions and security.
- Local Storage: Data stored in your browser that stays on your device and is not sent to our server. Used for preferences and temporary data.
Essential Cookies (Always Required)
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or filling out forms.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
connect.sid |
Session identifier - maintains your login state and session data | Session (expires when browser closes) or up to 24 hours |
_csrf |
Security token - protects against cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
foxyink_consent |
Consent preference - remembers your cookie consent choice (set whether you accept or decline) | 1 year |
foxyink_sid |
First-party session identifier used by our own privacy-first analytics (see "Our First-Party Analytics" below) to group page views within a single visit. Contains no personal information. | 30 minutes of inactivity |
Functional Storage (Local Storage - Not Sent to Server)
These use your browser's local storage to enhance your experience. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
| Storage Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
chat_session_id |
Chat session - lets our live chat reconnect you to your conversation if you navigate away | Persistent until cleared |
Our First-Party Analytics (Always Active)
Our own analytics runs on our server and does not store raw IP addresses in analytics records. It is pseudonymous, not fully anonymous: the signed, short-lived foxyink_sid cookie groups page views within one visit; consented visitors also use a daily-rotating hash; and signed-in activity may be linked to a customer ID. Records are automatically deleted after 365 days.
Analytics Cookies (Requires Consent)
If you consent to Analytics Cookies, Google Analytics and self-hosted PostHog may set analytics storage. Advertising remains denied unless you separately accept Advertising Cookies.
| Cookie/Storage Name | Set By | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) | Distinguishes visitors and sessions for site-usage statistics |
ph_* |
PostHog (self-hosted) | Product analytics, including anonymized session recording and heatmaps |
Advertising Cookies (Requires Separate Consent)
| Cookie/Storage Name | Set By | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
_fbp, _fbc | Meta (Facebook) | Advertising measurement, attribution, and audience matching |
Cookie Settings on Our Website
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the button below:
Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete all or specific cookies
- Block cookies from being set
- Set preferences for specific websites
Here are links to cookie management instructions for popular browsers:
Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of our website, such as booking appointments or logging in.
In addition to our own cookies, we may use third-party services that set their own cookies:
Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager (If Analytics Consent Given)
If you consent to analytics cookies, we use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies (such as _ga) to measure how visitors use our website. Without your consent these tools operate in a "consent denied" mode and do not set analytics cookies.
PostHog Analytics (If Analytics Consent Given)
If you consent to analytics cookies, we may use PostHog for advanced analytics, including anonymized session recording and heatmaps. PostHog is a privacy-focused analytics platform that we self-host, and it may set its own cookies to track sessions and user interactions.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel (If Advertising Consent Given)
Only if you separately consent to Advertising Cookies, Meta Pixel may set cookies such as _fbp/_fbc, and conversion events may be sent through Meta's Conversions API. Matching signals can include hashed email, phone, and name plus IP address, user agent, click/browser identifiers, and conversion value. Analytics consent alone does not activate Meta.
Square (Payment Processing)
When you make a payment, Square's payment form may set cookies necessary for secure payment processing. These cookies are essential for completing transactions.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA may set cookies to analyze your behavior and verify you are human.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
We encourage you to check this page periodically to stay informed about our use of cookies.
