PRIVACY POLICY
This policy explains how Foxy Ink Tattoo Studio collects, uses, protects, retains, and discloses personal information under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
We collect the information needed to respond to inquiries, assess projects, schedule appointments, deliver tattoo services, process payments, maintain required records, and operate this website. This can include contact details, project references, appointment history, consent forms, relevant health disclosures, communications, and transaction records.
Foxy Ink inspects original government photo identification at every appointment. The studio records the identification type, last four digits, and date of birth, but does not photograph or retain a copy of the identification.
Payment card details are transmitted directly to Square and are not stored on Foxy Ink servers.
Information is used for project review, booking, client communication, health and safety, service delivery, payment processing, recordkeeping, website security, consent-based analytics or advertising, and legal obligations.
Foxy Ink does not sell or rent personal information. Information is disclosed only with consent, to service providers acting for the studio, or where permitted or required by law.
Signed consent forms, client service records, relevant health disclosures, identification-verification details, and sterility records are normally retained for two years after the most recent tattoo or related touch-up. Records connected to an active complaint, insurance matter, legal claim, or legal hold may be retained longer. Records are securely deleted or destroyed when no longer required.
Transaction and tax records may be retained for the period required by applicable financial law. First-party pseudonymous analytics records are automatically deleted after 365 days. Consent records are retained as needed to honour and demonstrate the current choice.
Essential cookies support security and core site functions. The site also uses first-party pseudonymous operational analytics. Google Analytics 4 and self-hosted PostHog are enabled only with analytics consent. Meta Pixel and Conversions API are enabled only with separate advertising consent.
Raw IP addresses may be used briefly for security and city/region lookup but are not stored in the first-party analytics table. See the Cookie Policy for details and controls.
You may ask to access or correct your personal information and may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits. Foxy Ink will normally respond to a written access request within 45 calendar days, unless PIPA permits an extension.
Privacy concerns can also be raised with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Foxy Ink uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted web traffic and restricted access. No electronic system can guarantee absolute security.
Service providers may include Square for payments, email delivery providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, MaxMind for approximate location lookup, and consent-based analytics or advertising providers. Their own privacy terms also apply to information they process.
Questions, access requests, corrections, or complaints can be sent to [email protected] or raised through the contact page.
Material updates will be reflected in the reviewed date shown above.
